Heating and hot water kept on while the permanent plant is replaced, so the school, campus or hospital carries on as normal.
Some buildings cannot go without heating or hot water for the length of a plant replacement. For those projects we install and maintain temporary boiler or hot water plant, connect it into the existing distribution and keep it running until the new permanent plant is commissioned.
At Goldsmiths, University of London, a temporary boiler plant maintained heating and hot water to academic, residential and critical buildings throughout the energy centre upgrade, which was delivered with zero operational downtime. At La Sainte Union School temporary hot water plant ran for the whole six-month programme.

When is temporary plant needed?
Where a building must stay heated or needs hot water throughout the works: residential and care settings, hospitals, and schools whose plant is being replaced in term time or over the winter.
Who looks after the temporary plant?
We do. It is installed and maintained by our engineers until the permanent plant is commissioned.
Will there be any interruption at changeover?
Changeovers are short planned isolations agreed with you in advance and timed for when the building is least affected.
Is temporary plant only for boiler houses?
No. We also provide temporary hot water plant, as at La Sainte Union School.
