Chace Community School, Washroom Refurbishment
Second floor washrooms stripped out and fully refurbished during the 2024 summer holiday, engaged directly by the school.
Overview
Preou was engaged directly by Chace Community School to refurbish the second floor toilet area of the Expressive Arts Building during the summer holiday, from 24 July to 2 September 2024. The project included the male, female and staff toilets, assisted WC and cleaners cupboard.
Scope of works
Works involved isolating and removing existing hot and cold water pipework, sanitaryware, lighting, hand driers, ventilation systems and fire and smoke alarms. New floor-to-ceiling cubicles, IPS panelling, vanity units and a DOC M assisted WC suite were installed. New water pipework, soil and waste pipework, lighting and ventilation were added to suit the revised layouts.
The fire and smoke alarms, CCTV cameras and door entry systems were reinstated. Suspended ceilings, vinyl flooring, Whiterock wall cladding and LED lighting with PIR sensors were also installed. The cleaners cupboard was refurbished to the same standard.
Outcome
The project, valued at £223,529, was completed on time and within budget, providing modern facilities for staff and pupils.
