Ealing and Northwick Park Hospitals, Roof M&E Enabling Works

Overview

We delivered a major programme of roof replacement, repairs and associated M&E enabling works at Northwick Park Hospital, acting as main contractor within a challenging live healthcare environment. The extensive roofing works required careful coordination with existing critical mechanical and electrical services so that hospital operations were maintained throughout.

Scope of works

Our scope included the removal and reinstatement of air conditioning systems in accordance with F-Gas requirements, works to air handling units and ventilation systems, and the replacement and modification of complex extract systems.

We also delivered extensive electrical works, including new cabling and cable tray installations for roof-mounted plant and general hospital power, together with all associated isolations, connections, testing and commissioning.

Additional enabling works included the manufacture and installation of prefabricated metal walkways and access steps, alterations to existing plant room metalwork to facilitate the new roofing installation, and the removal and reinstatement of the hospital's lightning protection systems.

Outcome

Working within a live hospital required detailed planning, controlled service isolations and close coordination with hospital stakeholders. The project demonstrates our ability to manage complex, multidisciplinary healthcare projects safely and efficiently in accordance with applicable HTM requirements.
