Ashurst Hospital, Mechanical and Electrical Upgrade
A comprehensive mechanical and electrical services upgrade as main contractor for University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

Overview
We were appointed as main contractor to deliver a comprehensive mechanical and electrical services upgrade at Ashurst Hospital, part of University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
Scope of works
The project commenced with the controlled strip-out and removal of the existing LTHW heating system, hot and cold water services, associated pipework and redundant electrical installations.
A complete new heating system was installed, incorporating new LTHW pipework and radiators throughout. New hot and cold water services and distribution pipework were also installed, together with new sanitaryware serving toilet and kitchen areas. The mechanical works included a new air conditioning system throughout the facility, alongside a completely new drainage system to serve the refurbished areas.
Electrical works comprised a full new installation, including small power and lighting, together with new fire alarm and intruder alarm systems.
Outcome
The works were carefully coordinated between the mechanical and electrical disciplines. The completed project provided Ashurst Hospital with fully renewed mechanical, electrical, water, drainage and environmental control systems suitable for a modern NHS healthcare environment.
