Project overview
Preou was appointed as main contractor for the replacement and upgrade of the boiler plant serving the Speech Room at Harrow School, a listed building. The project required careful planning to protect the historic building fabric while working within a live school environment. All Preou engineers attending site held Enhanced DBS clearance.
Scope of works
The works included the replacement of two boilers, together with a new plate heat exchanger, Microfill pressurisation unit, BMS controls and flue system. Preou also managed electrical power upgrades, system flushing and dosing, builders work, scaffolding, making good and decoration.
Project delivery
The existing plant was safely removed and the new equipment installed and integrated with the existing heating system. Particular care was taken when carrying out works within the listed building, with all mechanical, electrical and builders work carefully coordinated. Following the main contract, Preou completed additional ventilation works to ensure the plant room achieved the required compliance standards.
