Enfield Civic Centre, Cooling Tower Replacement

Overview

We completed the replacement and upgrade of the cooling tower installation at Enfield Civic Centre, delivering a comprehensive package of mechanical and associated electrical works.

Scope of works

The project commenced with the removal and disposal of the existing cooling towers, followed by the supply and installation of new cooling tower plant. Specialist craneage, support rails, plant movement and lifting operations were coordinated to enable the new equipment to be safely positioned.

Our mechanical works included modifications and installation of condenser and chilled water pipework, cold water supplies and condenser water distribution. External pipework was provided with insulation and trace heating, with internal pipework also fully insulated. The chilled water system works incorporated a new pressurisation unit and water treatment dosing equipment, together with associated above-ground drainage.

We also delivered the associated controls and electrical works, including strip-out, power installations and coordination with lighting and fire alarm requirements, and the builders work associated with the installation.

Completion

On completion, the systems were filled, dosed, tested and commissioned, followed by demonstration and provision of the required operation and maintenance documentation and building log book.
