Bridgewood House Care Home, VRV Installation
A new Daikin VRV air conditioning system with 70 indoor and 12 outdoor units, installed in a fully occupied care home.

Scope of works
This project involved the supply and installation of a new Daikin VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) air conditioning system at Bridgewood House Care Home. The installation included 70 wall-mounted indoor units connected via newly installed refrigerant pipework and condensate drainage systems, and 12 outdoor units split to support the internal load, installed at both ground and rooftop levels.
Challenges
Bridgewood House is a fully occupied care home with residents requiring a high level of care and consideration. All works were carefully planned and executed to accommodate daily routines and minimise disruption.
Electrical installation
A comprehensive electrical package was delivered as part of the project, including three-phase power to feed new distribution boards for the VRV outdoor units, and two new dedicated single-phase ring circuits per floor, 12 circuits in total, to power the indoor units.
Special measures
The ground floor outdoor units were enclosed within custom acoustic housings to meet local planning requirements concerning noise levels and appearance. A Daikin iTouch Manager centralised control system was installed in the caretaker's office, providing complete system control and monitoring. Full user training was provided on completion.
