Project: Lynton House, Ilford
Client: Redbridge Council
Lynton House was the tallest building in Ilford, when constructed in 1969 and is one of London’s oldest skyscrapers. Redbridge Council currently run many important services from this building including their One Stop Shop where their staff can interact with the local community.
We were instructed to supply and install Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Domestic Water Services over many floors of the building and carried out the following works:
New eco-friendly air conditioning units on all floors.
Upgrading the heating and associated controls across all floors.
Ventilation on ground floor reception area.
Our main challenge was carrying out the works during normal hours, working within a fully occupied office building. We programmed our work to take place floor by floor, causing as little disruption to office staff, and liaising with team leaders to ensure work could take place in their area. We scheduled our deliveries in a timely fashion, as we only had use of one service lift to transport material up and down the building, and this was shared by over 50 workers.
