Millfield Theatre, Edmonton, North London
The Millfield Theatre opened in December in 1988 in the grounds of Millfield House located in Edmonton.
It was the first new theatre built in London after the National Theatre in 1963 and seats up to 362 in a variety of stage layouts. A.C. Preou were instructed by London Borough of Enfield for Boiler Plant Hire.
We carried out the following works:
- We decommissioned the original boiler plant following its failure.
- Installation of a temporary boiler plant to provide heating.
- A commissioned system to allow heating to the front of House areas
of the building -including the Bar, Bistro, Foyer, public toilets as well as the backstage areas. - Consulted building staff to ensure satisfaction.
This was an emergency contract, as the heating had suddenly failed. Since ‘the show must go on’ L B Enfield instructed us to step in. We have our own ‘Temporary Containerised Boiler Plant’ for emergency situations such as this.
Our determined team had the heating up and running quickly, with minimal disruption to staff and theatregoers.
